How it all started

I collect medals and I was always looking for a method of framing. I would buy old frames when I saw them and make a box to display items but found that securing them without some form of glue was not easy!

Our story

I came up with the idea of impressed medals due to the issue box for the Military Cross which is ‘sunken’ into an aperture its exact shape. My method of framing achieves this effect for all medals-they are secured in a sandwich of glass at the front and a velvet coated board with rear mount and back board which ensures each medal is displayed to its best advantage.

Our approach

I design each medal board based on client specification and these are cut using a CNC machine. They are then hand coated using different velvet colours and once cured I cut the frame moulding and glue/underpin and cut glass/mount and backboards. I then complete any metal plates as required (ie photograph plates and/or citation/nameplates) I then fit the plates and assemble each frame. All frames have sprung turns on the reverse enabling easy fitting of the medals.
